“Adult 1:1” is a 1:1 mentoring program for adults 18 years and older living in Chemung County, who are currently in a mental health treatment program and are seeking a volunteer friendship to help build their socialization skills.  Volunteers meet with their adult “friend” for a minimum of four hours a month for at least one year, potentially building a forever friendship for years yet to come.  Our adult “friends” are building their independence, developing personal growth, learning to set goals and celebrating their achievements, while also improving their socialization skills, reducing isolation and improving their quality of life.

Adult 1:1 volunteers provide a truly meaningful experience to an adult who otherwise may feel isolated and struggle with feelings of despair.
