Personalized Recovery Services (STIRS)

STIRS (Southern Tier Integrated Recovery Services) is a mental health recovery-oriented program for individuals with mental health disabilities who aim to successfully achieve their life goals at home, with family, through work and school, and in the community. The goal of the program is to integrate treatment, support and rehabilitation in a manner that facilitates the individual's recovery. 

We are person-centered, strength-based, growth oriented, peer supported, and believes in your hope for change.

STIRS will:

  • Assist you in developing and restoring your skills and supports both at home and in the community.

  • Help you identify and build your strengths in ways to overcome roadblocks to your living, learning, working, and social goals.

  • Can be offered individually, with family members or other people important to your mental health recovery, and in groups. 

With STIRS you can choose from a range of services including:

  • Community Rehabilitation and Support

  • Intensive Rehabilitation

  • Outgoing Rehabilitation and Support

  • Clinical Treatment 

Group Meeting

STIRS also provides nutritious meals for individuals attending the program. The Federal Food Program is federally funded through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

STIRS is a NYS Office of Mental Health Licensed Comprehensive Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) with Clinical Treatment Program.

The STIRS program services are provided through a successful collaboration between Family Services of Chemung County and Capabilities (Capabilities, Inc., is a Non-For-Profit 501(c)3 Charitable Organization, providing education and vocational support services for individuals with disabilities for over 50 years)
