     Registered Nurse 

Job Description: The Clinic Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in an outpatient mental health clinic. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals

Responsibilities:

· Assesses clients care needs and prepares, implements, and evaluates the nursing care plan.

· Counsels and guides individual and families in the prevention of illness and attainment of maximum health.

· Maintains detailed client records.

· Maintains strict inventory of medication samples.

· Administers injections or other medications as ordered by the prescriber using the framework of the three P’s (right time, right medication, right patient, right dosage and right route).

· Instructs the client regarding diet, medications and health habits.

· Participates, engages, listens, and learns in individual and team meetings

· Supports a culture that prioritizes professionalism, kindness, teamwork, staff development, and compassion to ourselves, each other, and our clients. Represent the agency in the community with courtesy and professionalism

· Reviews and adhere to all agency policies and procedures

· Other assignments and tasks may be added at the discretion of supervisor.

Requirements: Applicants will have graduated from an accredited school of Nursing. BSN is preferred. Two or more years of clinical nursing practice is required. Experience in an outpatient mental health setting or other mental health backgrounds is preferred. Must have experience administering injections.

 

 

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, works well independently and as a member of a team. This position interacts with clients, families, outside organizations and staff, the ideal candidate will also be professional, courteous, and friendly.
