PROS Specialist
Job Summary: The Peer Specialist works in collaboration with the treatment team to help engage and assist clients in successfully managing their recovery. The Peer Specialist can provide both individual and group sessions that are strength based and empower the client.
Requirements:
Applicants are expected to self identify as someone who has received current or past mental health services and verbalizes a commitment to their recovery. They must have at least a high school diploma or GED. The individual will be required to complete the Peer Academy and obtain their certification as a peer specialist if they do not already have this certification.

The ideal candidate will work well with others, be committed to their own recovery, be willing to share their story, strength based, and empowering to others. In addition, they will have good written and oral communication skills. '
Responsibilities:

Provide support to PROS and HCBS clients.

Complete timely documentation as required by NYS OMH regulations. This documentation may include initial screening note, comprehensive assessment, service specific assessment, IRPs, ISPs, monthly notes, and progress notes, among others.

Participate in outreach, engagement, and discharge planning.

Assist clients in increasing their overall functioning through added support and coping skills.

Assist clients in identifying their strengths and barriers.

Case coordination and management.

Attend ongoing training related to PROS, HCBS, cultural competency, risk assessment, and evidenced based practice.

Participates, engages, listens and learns in individual and team meetings.

Responsible to represent the agency in the community with courtesy and professionalism.

Responsible to review and adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
